Wrong.
A study led by assistant professor of sociology Hui Liu of the Michigan State University says that the younger married couples divorce, the more likely it is they will suffer stress-related adverse health effects (so far, so unsurprising).
Now you would have thought it would be nigh on impossible to misreport or misrepresent that, but you'd be wrong, because you probably don't read much Australian lame-stream media.
Some twonk called Luke Malone, who writes some risibly feminist-lite tosh for the Australian Fairfax group, managed to turn a perfectly mundane psycho-sociological study (even if its conclusions are contested) into this:
"Divorce more deadly for young women"
What?
So younger men involved in divorce don't suffer stress? They do but it doesn't count?
There was absolutely no mention of gender in the original press release for the study at all. None. So where does this Luke idiot get the idea that men don't suffer, or if they do it don't matter?
Is it any wonder with tripe like this, written by a bloke ffs, that some of us blokes just want to stab ourselves in the leg with a fork while yelling "bugbloodyfuckballs" at the wall?
Luke, me old mucker, you clueless twat, do the rest of us a favour will you? The next time you think you want to "contribute" something to the mess that is relationships between men and women, have a nice cup of tea instead.
